I’m trying out your kernel on an HP 2140. Boots and works. However, when I plug in a USB MIDI interface (Midisport 2×2), the firmware loads, but the device isn’t registered with ALSA. Looks like a bunch of “snd-*” modules aren’t loading. How can I get those modules to load?

    Many thanks for your work!

      Hi Rick,

Thanks for trying the kernel. The config file used only covers the bare minimum hardware to run a “standard” netbook (to keep the kernel as small/quick as possible). You’ll probably need to get the liquorix patched 3.0.6 kernel source and recompile it to support your MIDI hardware. Note – following are the only modules running after booting this kernel on a HP 2140 (which we just happen to have at work).

      Module Size Used by
      fuse 61137 3
      dm_crypt 13432 0
      dm_mod 61498 1 dm_crypt
      b43 300471 0
      mac80211 170010 1 b43
      cfg80211 147021 2 b43,mac80211
      ssb 33720 1 b43

Sound also works on the HP2140 (since you mentioned ALSA). Apologies for not being much help.

Hey, I think your blog might be having browser compatibility troubles. Once I look at your blog site in Ie, it looks fine but when opening in Internet Explorer, it has some overlapping. I merely wanted to provide you with a quick heads up! Other than this, awesome website!
